Groundbreaking celebrates start of new Pompano Beach civic center

Charlotte J. Burrie

The recent groundbreaking for the Charlotte J. Burrie Civic Center celebrates the first step in the development process for Pompano Beach's 8,700 SF multipurpose community facility, scheduled for a 2019 completion. Named for Vice Mayor Charlotte Burrie, the center will offer meeting spaces for civic, social, and recreational activities.

Charlotte Burrie, an attorney in private practice and dedicated to public service, has served the City of Pompano Beach for nearly three decade: as City Clerk, as City Commissioner, and as of March 2015, as Vice Mayor.
