Fort Lauderdale High School Construction Completion is Scheduled for August 2013

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Construction is well underway for phased replacement and modernization of Fort Lauderdale High School. According to architect Manuel Synalovski, AIA, founding principal of Synalovski Romanik Saye, the current project is scheduled for an August 2013 completion, in time for the next school year. 

“Fort Lauderdale High School, built on its current site in 1962, was in serious need of modernization,” Synalovski said. “Our firm was chosen to design and oversee construction for the $15.9 million renewal project. The project adds two new three-story buildings: one for administrative functions, and the other for state-of-the-art classrooms.”

In addition, new parking and remodeling of existing science labs were part of renovation.

“Construction scheduling was carefully managed to allow classroom, athletic and administrative activities to continue without interruption,” Synalovski said.

The architectural firm has designed many public and private schools in South Florida, including Montessori Academy in Pembroke Pines, KLA preschool in North Bay Village, Berkshire Elementary in Palm Beach County, Colbert Elementary in Hollywood, Sagemont Upper School in Weston, and Kaplan University sites throughout the state, as well as many projects for Barry University.
