A rare community zoned site, 700 feet long and 50 feet wide, literally gave rise to a concept of a four-story-high, 20,000 SF car wash that transforms the vertical space into a new profit center.
Located in Hallandale Beach south of the Art Fashion District and alongside the Florida East Coast Railway, Green Light Car Wash unveils a modern, new eco- and community-friendly exemplar of its genre. The successful formula for this branded series is based on hiring locals in the neighborhood and fund-raising for community activities and community-based groups.
Designed by SRS, the glass-façaded building overlooks the scenic railway and is readily accessed via Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Vehicles easily queue up for the car wash function on the ground floor. The second and third floors accommodate storage of equipment and supplies. The fourth story offers 4,800 SF of rooftop space, to be used in evening hours for community events, entertainment, and casual dining services.
Street level parking accommodates car wash patrons as well as guests for evening activities, with a canopy that offers a shaded area for vehicle polishing and drying.
