7th Avenue Village
Hallandale Beach, FL
A coherent master plan for a neighborhood retail plaza with shops, services, and restaurants was carefully assembled over time with the acquisition of various smaller lots. As the owner’s representative, SRS coordinated site development efforts with City officials, infrastructure providers – Comcast, AT&T, FP&L, and TICO Gas – and neighborhood residents to assure approvals, easements, and continuity of services. SRS won approval for a deeper site, affording frontage on the Boulevard while allowing for visibility of bays farther back. L-shaped buildings on either side of 7th Avenue frame a new interior road that allows access to the residential community south of the Boulevard. A contemporary, well-defined scheme unifies and underscores the corollary between the east and west buildings of the Village. Cool gray stucco, stone veneer accents, metal canopies, canvas awnings, and double signage trellises proclaim a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
