Success Challenged to create distinct but compatible settings for two side-by-side casual restaurants, SRS chose minimalistic design themes with bold, distinctive patterns and vibrant colors reflecting the international cuisine.

Tacogüey - Poku Poke Shop

Cooper City, FL

One of South America’s most distinguished chefs, and owner of a premier upscale South Florida restaurant, wanted to introduce a high-quality, but casual multicultural menu into a residential family neighborhood. Envisioning a bright and crisp setting, SRS created interrelated but unique moods, modern sunlit spaces for two very different menus.

Tacogüey celebrates the universal appeal of the taco, popular Southwestern staple, while Poku revels in popular poke bowl combinations of vegetables and seafood. Conceived by SRS for family and friends’ lunches and informal get-togethers, the interior architecture offers homey, bistro-type environments that evoke nuanced reference to the menu origins.

Poku Poke features a spare, wood-embellished space with an abstract wall mural of soft green and blue, light wood tables and chairs, and is dotted with desert cactus and succulent plants. In contrast, Tacogüey dazzles with a whitewashed brick wall, vividly colored furnishings, and paint accents in green, purple, red, and yellow. A feast for the appetite and the eyes, the cafés entice patrons to snap photos and share on social media platforms and point the way to the destination, located in Cooper Square, a brand-new shopping center also designed by SRS.
